Because Japan has invaded Korea by this point.
So Japan's becoming more powerful as well.
And China was defeated.
The Navy was defeated as well.
So it's not going well.
And then, of course, her nephew slash son grows up and he becomes Emperor Guangzhou.
Right.
So she's like, you can't be emperor until you're married and I'm going to choose your wife.
