The new Mario Kart music, every single new track that they had had a new song that was amazing.
And again, the road trip element to the game's kind of vibe and the whole point of Mario Kart World allowed it to have such a different thing.
Mario Kart 8, it's all the jazz remixes.
Every single thing is jazz, jazz, jazz.
has started with that like harmonica kind of road trip, like bluesy type thing.
And then every section of the world had a completely different vibe, whether it's the city pop of the Princess Peach area, or just like so many different genres being represented.
This is like the apex of what production value can be for music production in a video game.
And I understand people just might hear it in the untrained ear, just like it's the Mario song, but it is so, so, so much more than that.
I want this all clear.
I think Expedition 33 should win, and I think it will win.
I just wanted this to get nominated because I just think it deserves a shout-out.
We're talking about one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever, and it's not just because it's a collection of things.
It is because of what this did for a soundtrack.
Was that RPG or was that set?
Oh, that was Sim's strategy?
Still, point stands.
And that's always that weird thing that we've had the conversation a bazillion times about remake, remaster, where's the line, what are we awarding here?
Because Resident Evil 4 remake being up for Game of the Year a couple years ago, that's a similar conversation, right?
And we can agree or disagree on what it is, but it's like, yeah, there is that precedent.
I do think there is a difference between Resident Evil remake and Final Fantasy Tactics, but that's a personal thing.
