Anyways, what did stop you?
So then Andy, I turn my eyes to you. Yes. Based on the trailer we just saw, where are you thinking season two of Last of Us... Now, part two. How far are we getting? Are you standing by... I think we've all said... Spoilers for the game, right? I think last... We won't go into the story beats, and obviously we've been dancing around those, right?

But the game's split into two parts pretty much, right? We have an Ellie section. We have an Abby section. Based on what we just saw there, are you standing by the time-honored tradition that we've been talking around here, that it's going to be season two, which is part one of part two, will be just Ellie stuff, and then we'll do the break there?

It's so hard to say because I'm an idiot. You know what I mean? When I think about how you pace out a show, what do you do with a show and stuff like this, like... There's so much going on in Last of Us Part II that I just don't know the best way to tell that story. And I also think that's where the power of Craig Mazin comes in.

Not to take away from Neil, but to have someone who knows television so well, knows this form of storytelling so well. Not to say that Neil doesn't know live action after season one, but to come in and really figure out for an audience that includes the general public, the more mainstream, what are they going to want?

Because the big thing we have talked about over and over again in the lead up to Last of Us Part II is... For gamers, even though it didn't work for all gamers, you got to play through this thing. You get to being Abby. You're like, oh, I don't want to be Abby. As a viewer, how do you keep people around? Just to pick up with the next season and be like, you're there.

Do you run into a thing where we saw with Walking Dead where when Negan got introduced, so many people bounced off. That just wasn't what they wanted, even though that was a great comic book moment.

and a great, I think, Jeffrey Dean, such a great version of the comic book character brought to screen, but it was too much like the comic, and it was a different medium, and it didn't work that well, and it scared people away. I don't know how you do that and balance that in here. I think this season, season one, you have to make Abby...

Obviously, we're not going to like Abby, but we need to understand her motivations to be able to be like, okay, what's going on, blah, blah, blah. We're getting Fs in chats too, Barrett. I'm sure you can see it.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how you first off make Abby sympathetic in season one. So people aren't pissed off for season two. You know what I mean? This is confusing season maker sympathetic in season two to make her not horrible in season three for people. I don't know.
