Saw that in the room the other day.
I thought about this one a lot.
Like, I don't have a vote for the Conn Smythe.
And right now, if I did, it would probably go to Mitch Marner.
But nonetheless...
This has been something, not just Carter Hart, but situations like this are something that, and we'll just use sports, for example, and there's always one saying that I come back to.
This has been going on in hockey, topic of this podcast, for decades, right?
This always comes up.
How do you vote for this player when this player is also this person, right?
And a lot of times I think it was Lord Acton who said it.
And it's a great quote that I always got to remind myself of too.
And this is true of throughout all of history in a number of different fields.
And it's quite simply, great men are seldom good men.
And you can go right through history and find examples of that everywhere.
Men who do great things are seldom good men.
And we see it play itself out time.
and time and time again and it's we wrestle with it other decades have wrestled with it as well look at the art i mean look at the art community you can look at picasso and go like wow this is spectacular and then start to learn about the man and then say well you know what maybe it's not quite so spectacular after all or can you just separate yourself
But I do find the redemption arc stories right now are a little... I don't think we need that in our lives.
All right.
Looking forward to tonight.
