I don't know if I've ever discussed this on the show, but my grandfather lived in Montreal when I was a kid, so we used to go up there all the time to visit him.

And oh, yeah, he was a huge Expos fan.

You know, he wasn't really into hockey, but he was a huge Expos fan.

And so as a kid, I really learned to, you know, love this city and and I was fascinated by the bilingual culture of it.

And then, you know, it's not – the secret to living in New York, Merrick, is knowing the trips you can take that aren't going to be too taxing.

And Montreal is a drive from New York.

It's a hefty drive, but it's a drive.

So my wife and I have gone up there for Christmas time.

We've gone up there for summertime.

It's truly one of my favorite places in the world.

It's a European city where, despite the current state of politics, they actually do hate Americans slightly less than in some European cities.

Well, I mean, we learned that a diminished Kale McCarr is better than no Kale McCarr at all, which is why I'm sure they're fitting him with robot parts to play game two of the series.

For all of the talk about the Avalanche being this inevitable juggernaut, there's a wobble to them after that Minnesota series.

Their goaltending was wobbly.

McCarr's health was a concern.

I think we didn't know how bad it was in the sense that he wouldn't play game one, but we knew that if he did play game one, Vegas was going to pound him into sand.

So like the idea that this was sort of let's etch the cup for Colorado, I think kind of maybe went off the rails a little bit in the second round.
