You've got down your different categories or an idea of the different categories.
You are going to download...
all of your bank statements for the past three months.
Stunning.
And you're going to go through line by line and highlight every single item and work out which category does it fit into.
Once you've worked out all the different categories and you're happy with your 16, 15, 12, 10, and then I want you to, in each category, work out on average how much do you spend per month.
And you might be sitting here going, holy, what are you talking about?
Like, well, I left school like 10 years ago.
Exactly.
So what you're going to do is you're going to total up your food.
So if you've got $500 in one month, $300 in another month, $200 in another month, you're going to divide because that's $1,000 all up.
Divide by three is...
Can't remember.
That's how much on average you spend in that category.
I need you to find out all the averages.
Just as like a triple check, you are going to add up all of these different amounts, the budget, and actually make sure that you are earning more.
There's only so much you can pull back on on your budgets before you start working out, before you start realizing that this is not what life should look like.
That's the thing.
That is the reality.
It's kind of annoying, but it's true.
