I've gotten pulled over by police before.

And guess what?

They asked me to show my ID.

And then I do.

And then I get let go.

So welcome to the club.

All American citizens have to carry ID on them.

And when they don't, you might get into some trouble.

And when you lose your ID, you might carry your passport.

But most American citizens, by the way, don't need to carry their passports, right?

I mean, the only time that I use my passport is when I don't have my ID or I lost my ID or I'm getting a new one or they give you that like paper interim one, right?

Okay, let me have an official one on me or when I'm traveling internationally.

That's the only time I, as an American citizen, have my passport on me.

And most of the time it's, oh my gosh, where is it?

And I'm looking for it eight hours before my international flight.

Where did I put it?

That's probably the experience of most American citizens.

No one who's an American citizen or a legal immigrant has to worry about walking around with their passport.

I just don't believe that.

I mean, we all have to walk around with our ID.
