And my dad who would support me in any of my decisions at all with respect to sports, he just said, Oh, well, I mean, if that's the best thing for you, then absolutely. We'll support you a hundred percent.

And it gets you further along. And the whole point of that is that the further down you can go to getting out what your actual reason is, the further along the spectrum you can go, your breaking point spectrum.

So at first, winning a medal was not worth it. My breaking point was right here. But as soon as I realized... what another why was, and something which was much more profound for me, all of a sudden my breaking point got further and further along. So I was able to handle all those other things.
