I mean, the gospels suggest that large crowds followed him or turned up to see what he was going to do.
That's right.
So, I mean, you hear that there's a crowd of 5,000, a crowd of 4,000.
I mean, who knows?
Who would have known in antiquity how big these crowds were?
But we're given the impression that there are large gatherings.
And they're coming to see the miracles.
They're wanting healing.
They're wanting to see something.
This is before telly and
the radio.
This is entertainment as much as anything else.
But also he's got this message and certainly some of them are going to go back and think, yeah, this could be the time.
This could be the guy.
This is it.
Something is going to happen now.
So he's growing in popularity.
He's got all these followers.
