The fastest way to make millions of dollars in the movie industry is to start with tens of millions of dollars. Then you lose all of that and you end up with a million. It's a losing game in a lot of cases. I didn't think it was going to turn out financially as well as it did, but I was hoping that it would create awareness. See, back at the time of Abraham Lincoln, it wasn't guys like me.
It wasn't the guys rescuing the slaves that created the biggest impact. It was people like you, Matt. It was influencers. It was people like Harriet Beecher Stowe, who wrote a book called Uncle Tom's Cabin, which was the media. It was the podcasters of the age, right? It created an awareness with good people of what was going on in the South.

In fact, years later, when Abraham Lincoln met Harriet, he shook her hand. He said, so you're the little lady that wrote the book that started the Civil War, right? Today, it's people like you that bring to light some of these things that we can then create and implement real change. So I'm super grateful.

And Sound of Freedom did die. We literally, it was completely finished five years before we were able to have distribution. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, Hollywood didn't want it to be shown. Big media didn't want it to be shown. We got blocked everywhere, everywhere. We had, it was insane.

We had it finished and Fox International had the international distribution rights and Disney ended up buying Fox and then no distribution was able to be put together with Disney. So we had to buy out them, negotiate that. Then it got tied up for another, I think six months or more by another Disney exec that tied it up. I'm like, what the hell does Disney have against this stuff, right?

And so finally we were able to break it free, but by then, you know, everywhere. We went to Netflix, Amazon, nobody wanted to do this. Am I thinking, am I the only person that thinks this is a good movie? Right? I mean, we, we put a lot into it. And, and what's funny is finally, we're like, listen to Amazon, just, just, just sell it. Just take it for just what we're into it for like 14 million.

That's all. You can literally have it completely do whatever you want with it. They wouldn't even buy it for that. After we ended up becoming the number one independent film in the world, then all of a sudden Amazon comes back to us, hey, we would love to do a deal with you. So we charged them $30 million instead of $14, and they didn't get any exclusivity. That's just to put it on there.

These are the kind of deals that you... I don't know all the reasons behind it, but I do believe that the P. Diddy scandal is deeper than you think. There's so much of this crap that's going on in Hollywood that they didn't want us to have these conversations with the general public.
