Denser wound up serving as chairman and CEO for 22 years. By the time he retired in 1994, the DTC held $7.7 trillion worth of securities, i.e. the shares of stock and the like. But today, on their website, the DTC says that they have custody of more than 1.4 million active securities issues, valued at a total of 87.1 trillion dollars. And they just say it, right there, out in the open.
