Well, it's interesting, Don, you say that because
the first thing we can do is point it out and identify it.
And actually, you actually show up in Chain of Ideas when you interviewed with Elon Musk and you pointed out his great replacement theory as not only being horrendous, but also a neo-Nazi theory.
And so us pointing it out and recognizing it, journalists,
having the courage to say the truth to power is absolutely critical.
But there are a number of organizations across the world that are taking action against great replacement theory, against the rise of authoritarianism, and actually listed many of them on the book's website, chainofideasbook.com, so that people can support those organizations.
I think the biggest difference with Chain of Ideas is that this is a global history.
This is a global study of the resurgence of Gert replacement theory over the last two decades.
I had many references to how
race and racism operates in in other countries and how to be an anti-racist but that wasn't necessarily a book that totally spanned the globe most of it was set in the united states while in chain of ideas there are 10 sections and each section is set in a different country uh that's not the u.s but the u.s story is is woven throughout and i think it allows american readers
to see just how much Trump's playbook has been written and refined by other authoritarians and it also forces the rest of the world to see that racism is a global phenomenon, not just in the United States.
Yeah, I mean, I was most,
hopeless when I did not understand what was happening to us and why.
writing a chain of ideas, by conducting the research for it, by realizing, peeling back the sort of layers and layers and layers of talking points to the actual animating theory that's pushing this politics, which is great replacement theory, it gave me a better sense of what we're up against and thereby how to combat it.
And it allows us to also understand why the Trump administration is putting so much stock in this so-called mass deportation programs, because great replacement theorists have long described re-migration, as they call it,
as the solution to the so-called great replacement.
