Usually this would be for a business or maybe if you were working at a restaurant and you needed to take inventory, that would mean checking and making sure that you have all the ingredients in the shelves or in the fridge and, you know, oh, do we need to order

more napkins or utensils, things like that for customers.

So inventory just refers to the stuff that you have, the number of items, different items.

And then an audit typically refers to checking that everything is, how should I put it?
