Okay, that garage door over there was open a foot.
What do you think she meant when she said that? What kinds of things were they saying to each other?
You thought he was so despondent that he might have taken his own life.
He was a church of our Savior a lot. Well, it's the oldest church in the area.
I remember Chris coming over and saying, I can get a chapel. We have a chapel on our property in Europe, and I'll have it sent over. And did you believe him? It's the Chichester Cathedral, no less. Right, but did you believe him at the time? And I thought, fabulous. That will look so perfect right here.
No one ever knew what house he lived in. He told me he was living on the second house from the corner on Lorraine and West. He told me he lived on the corner.
Okay, yeah. So how, well, I mean, we were talking about nip slips before. What are we talking about now?
Absolutely. I think this one is rated R to begin with from the get-go.
And they're like, yeah, we've been getting messages. We didn't feel comfortable enough to talk to you about it. Yeah. And that's how that conversation went. Oh my gosh.
Yeah, I imagine a long stare out the window of like, why did I have this person in my life at all?
Wow, that is awful. And this is what I mean.
So you don't call 911. You go, what do you do?
You were just staring at his eyes like, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
I would love to have someone who took care of my car or someone who cleaned up the dishes after dinner, but then I'd want them to leave.
She's already in trouble. She's already losing her job.
It's good to know somebody. It's good to know somebody. Even if it's somebody from the county jail. Right.
I started eating that Arby's right now. Listen, I ate the Arby's. Don't get me wrong.
So she thinks you said something, or at least everybody. Inmates. Inmates.
You gave them up. And they're only searching your cell to try and give you some wiggle room. To throw it out. But really, you gave them the other cells.
And then they put you back in the unit. And then they put me back in the unit. You're in danger. Exactly.
Can you bring somebody with you? No. Because when guys would go to the warden's office, they'd be like, I got to bring somebody with me.
This is exactly what you told them.
It's that TikTok. Nobody's coming for you. It's over.
It kind of sit in.
Yeah, 90% of it's just depression. You're burning up your time working out and doing this. It's laying in bed. Yeah. Staring at the wall.
What were the name of the books?
So this isn't what your series is based on? No, no, no, no, no.
Whoa. What? Because just from the TikTok. What does the TikTok get? Like half a million or something?
And that's what drove the traffic for the books.
And the series, go ahead. Okay, I was just wondering, because you said you started on TikTok, so you also started a YouTube channel, and you were just driving traffic to the YouTube channel? Right. And then how did the series come about? Like, did you write it? Oh, the series? That's crazy. Because, I mean, I thought, did you write the series?
No script? Nothing?
No, I saw everything was happening. It was in a house.
Did they catch Crime Boss at any point?
but uh i think i got if you could say the other thing i other thing i saw was people doing reviews yeah you could kind of see like this is a you like i kind of built oh yeah yeah that point hey that actually looks pretty good those doors look pretty good is that just wood yeah it's just some you just had a carpenter to it yep that looks pretty good i had my neighbor do it like yeah i i
Get to the unit. You understand, there's no TVs in federal prison. Really? When you talk about the TV and... Wow.
I was going to say, I saw reviews is what I saw, too. I saw people reviewing it. There was a woman that does a review. Oh, yeah. And then you posted a review from a woman. Well, she wasn't really reviewing it. She was just complaining that you hadn't put out another episode or something. And you were just re-upping. You were reposting what she had said.
Yeah. No, no, no. Trust me. I know. I'd be selling cars right now.
Yeah. So the Indian chick never reached out to you? Yeah.

Right. There's no way she's coming.
So you get out, you get some chick pregnant. Mm-hmm. And... She had, I mean, these are adult problems. You know what I'm saying? Jail, babies.
She tried to take it.
Can I ask you a question? Go ahead. What does this chick look like?
What do you mean, we? No, no. Just her.
Yeah, it was. Why? Why?
The Indian.
God forbid. Listen. I don't have TV.
He's like, what do you want me to tell you?
No inmate? No. The inmates.
And they're probably suffering from super depression, right? Like it's got to be.
How did you end up in Texas?
Yeah.

I can see the coach now. Listen, you're not going to make the team.
What does that mean? You got into it real bad? We had the harsh words.
Yeah, you can't come back here.
This is supposed to be a wonderful experience. I hate it. What did you expect?
I need 500. I want 500 bucks.
Are you concerned that they're going to give him some Wendy's?
He got the Wendy's. He got something. You're going to get a photograph?
Even after that happened. Right. So yeah, all this is happening while you're in the alternative school. Yeah. Okay.
You didn't get arrested?
I'm assuming there's a bunch of Dallas's.
Whatever it is. It's a carpet guard.
Because you beat him at the game?
You need to pick your friends up.
Listen, listen. What's I'm listening? Listen. Your buddy. Mm-hmm. Has a nice, an avalanche, right? Is that the avalanche you said? He has a nice, I guess you said it was orange. He has a nice avalanche with some big rims on it. And this is your buddy.
So this isn't a police raid. This is some guys looking for dope.
True story. So you got some money from your grandma? From my granny, yeah.
Okay.
It's a long drive.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Truth or lie. Yeah, nobody will be able to track this truck down. Nobody will be able to. It's bright orange with 24s on it or something.

We're actually in trouble.
Oh, my God. True story. I mean, I can't believe you stayed in the truck.
Why didn't you get gas? I mean, in general, you had the money, right?
You guys have had one brilliant idea after another. Man, listen, I can't make this stuff up, bro.
10 months just for the stolen car. 10 months for the stolen car. And neither one of you said, hey, there's this thing in Atlanta.
So you're basically, what, 16, 17 by now?
What was that for?
It's not good. Not a good situation.
The problem is you've got all these little tiny 15 months or 8 months, 10 months sentence, 5 months. You don't have any idea how much trouble you're in right now.
At least at the time, I ain't thinking. Do you? No, no, no. You think if they catch me, I get to hear? What are you thinking? I'm a juvie. That's what I'm thinking. Yeah, but the law has a certain amount of passes before they say, I don't give a shit how old you are. I found out. You're an adult. You make an adult. These are adult crimes.
But you're not on drugs or anything? Nothing. You think the adrenaline just crashed?
This sounds like the city to commit crime in.
Wait a minute. You got, you pled guilty, right? Or did you go to trial?
Pled guilty to one count of— Aggravated assault. Okay. And what was the other charge?
And they gave you four years, and you did one?
Oh, you did four years?
You said it right. You got four years.
Did you go to a juvenile prison? Or did you go to an adult prison?
True story. I don't doubt it.
This woman's in the next room.
They got charged for what? For burglary, but they didn't steal anything.
What did you just say?
He told me the whole case. Okay. So that's really what linked them because of the guns. Right. So they just threw that out. What are they going to say? We've already sold this many guns. You got us on, oh yeah, and the safe. We did this, but not that.
That's it. He's already got his guys. They're already rolling over on each other left and right.
So after that, you got the attempted murder. You went, you did how many months? The year. A year? I did the year.
What happened there?
Right.
Clarksville, Tennessee?
18.
This is after you got out of prison. Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Maybe somebody saw you guys grab him?
Okay.
I'm thinking. You never went down?
Well, he's got a death wish, doesn't he? I mean, he's just one bad decision after another.
You don't seem to take kindly to people dating your ex-girlfriend.
Okay, wait a minute. Hold on one second. This isn't, the still isn't the shooter. No. Where's the shooter?
Oh, he turned himself in. Oh, that's right. You said that. You said that. I'm sorry.
But he turned himself in on the attempt to murder. On the attempt.
All this is happening, he hasn't been even spoken to. They're trying to build a whole case.
He tried to tell you the first time to go down. He's been trying to. This was the second dude. Oh, this is the driver? This is the driver to the other car.
Is this me? Is it that? It's a little complicated.
That's why.
Okay. After this happened, they— This isn't a real attempt. No, no, no, no.
What happened when your buddy came home? Did he come home and you were in this?
Yeah, yeah. It was an honest slip-up. It's not foolproof. Yeah, it was an honest slip-up. And, you know, you're waiting for the perfect... Like, that perfect moment may not have come. You know, you just waited and waited and waited and waited. You let one opportunity slip. Yeah, I did.
So they shouldn't have talked to you?
This is a win.
How old were you?
I feel like a year went by. It's been three days now. But it's been a few months, but it seems like.
With the good time, though. So you ended up doing, what, seven, eight?
Okay. The papers. You know, every state's different. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? So it's like I'm always trying to relate it to how it would work in the feds. I do the same way. But, you know, and then I'll talk to somebody who will get – we have guys that got, like –
you know 20 years and you're like 20 years you're like yeah 20 years yeah they're like so like three years later i get out through what yeah you know it's like no it's a non-violent crime right half your time plus 70 percent good time and you're like oh my god that's you know right some states are i think what states like that shrinker i know a guy named shrinker got like 20 something years he did like three what the fuck that's insane yeah so
Ten years.
What about your dad? So you said you ended up with your dad?
This is a powder keg. He don't want to be involved at all, right? He getting ready to go home.
He needs to be in another cell.
I'm in a corner. Colby's heard me say this. 30 seconds in a fight is exhausting. Exhausting.
I'd say the longest fight I ever saw was two guys fighting for probably a minute or two. It went on forever because they were fighting like... I mean, we're talking about it went... It went, like, up the stairs, on the second tier, like, down. Like, these guys are fighting down this. And they're stopping and breathing and hitting each other. And it went on for probably a minute.
And it was exhausting. I bet. I bet it felt like they got hit by a bull. No, I can't imagine. And this was one-on-one, by the way. This was two guys fighting.
I wish he'd called him crime boss. I said, I'll get right in there.
I'll just say, all right, go take a nap.
All right, so with that, Charles is going to pray for us.
So is it okay if I record your voice for... Do you want the sexy one or do you want the serious one?
I lived in Houston, Texas for 42 years. I was married for 27 of those. My daughter is older than you.
She's better off without me.
By the way, that's where that plate's going. Her name is Stacy. She lives two houses down from me. She's in the hospital right now. So I'm going to refrigerate it. That way whenever she gets out, she has something to eat.
These guys haven't experienced some of the things I've experienced. I really wanted to come in and impact the program. I'm sorry for crying, but it hurts. But I really wanted to come in and pack the program. And some of the stuff, the outcome, obviously wasn't what we wanted. But if someone asked me if I regret coming here,
I tell them, you know, I don't regret meeting my team, the coaching staff, the people I met. My heart just breaks for them because, like I said, they just haven't experienced some of the things I experienced in my career. But same thing for the fans, because I feel like I let a lot of people down. I feel like I did a poor job of letting people talk about me and affect my play.
And it was evident all year, and I wish I could just go back. And block out everything, not for myself, but for the team, so we can have a more successful year. But, I mean, this is a learning lesson for me. And I wish the best for the future of this program.
It's really amazing.
Right from that angle.
Is there any evolutionary basis for why we need them? There must be some kind of evolutionary reason for them.
Okay, so let's talk about the personal oral microbiome. Is my oral microbiome different from, say, Jack's over there and from my girlfriend's?
Massively different.
Really, until I met you and went through all of your work and your research. And I think many people listening to this now also probably aren't familiar with that term and also the importance of that term.
So if you had to make a case to someone like me who's really unfamiliar with this subject as to why it's so important from a very top-line perspective, what would you say?
Okay.
And the other central way that it can cause negative impacts to your overall health is via inflammation. What is the link between inflammation and my oral microbiome?
Ja. Was schockierend ist.
By treating her gum disease?
Also ich habe mich gefragt, ob du any of the stats that show the impact or the increased likelihood of me having a heart attack or a stroke or something based on my oral microbiome knew.
I found this stat, which might well be from your work or someone else's. It's from the study called The Association Between Peridontitis and Blood Pressure Highlighted in Systemically Healthy Individuals.
Not mine, but... And it found that people with gum disease were twice as likely to have a heart attack and three times as likely to have a stroke than those without inflammatory gum disease, which is absolutely staggering.
2,8-mal? Ja. Ich bin mir sicher, das sind 280 %, oder?
Was ist also diese periodontale Krankheit?
Ich muss einen Swig von diesem trinken.
Okay. And can you just explain, again, as if I'm 10, how that gum disease, that periodontitis, is it called, has an impact on my penis? I don't understand. I don't understand the link. It makes all of my blood vessels... Genau.
Okay, so this is an emergency, this stuff. This is really important.
The other thing, it's true, but also the other thing that I read in your research, which I found really, really interesting, Schockierend ist der Link zwischen meiner Oral-Hilfe, meinem Oral-Mikrobiom und dem Krebs.
So what's a breast microbiome?
I was reading about a study in mice that linked that oral bacteria to tumor growth. Are you familiar with that study?
And what's your belief there? I know this research is fairly new, but do you think there is a causal relationship, a significant causal relationship between the health of our oral microbiome and our probability of developing some form of cancer?
What is it that causes that? Is it something that I'm eating? Is it a lifestyle choice I'm making?
Does my girlfriend have it?
This guy's gonna edit that out. This is the problem. Green tea? That's good for my own microbiome?
What is your opinion of the impact that coffee has on my oral microbiome?
What about if I put loads of sugar in it?
So you want to just down the tea?
Okay, so it's not going to cause decay in the same way, but it might change the acidic balance, which then decays my tooth, which makes me more susceptible to when I eat sugar, to having a problem. Okay, got you. So going back to what we were talking about, the implications of an oral microbiome on the rest of my body, brain health is one thing that I was really curious about.
How do they unpick that from other causal factors that might be going on, like bad food choices? Because in my head I was thinking, well, if someone's drinking sugary, fizzy drinks every day, they're more likely to have gum disease. But maybe also that the chemicals within that fizzy drink are impacting their chances of dementia. Maybe they're also... Someone that has an unhealthy lifestyle.
Maybe they're more sedentary. If they're eating bad things, maybe they're more sedentary. And maybe it's that that's causing the rapid cognitive decline versus the gum disease itself. Is it possible to untangle all of this?
The test that you offer, does it test for gingiv pains? It does, yeah.
An dem Thema oral diseases and things like tooth decay, how many people are impacted globally by oral diseases?
Ich fragte mich, ob du darauf eine Perspektive hättest, And also the other thing that he mentioned to me was that there's a link between mouth breathing and things like ADHD. What is your point of view?
I took notes of a study which kind of is interconnected to the point we were making about mouth breathing, which said in a six-year study of 11,000 children, it was found that children who suffered from sleep-disordered breathing were 50 to 90 percent more likely to develop ADHD-like symptoms than were normal breathers who breathed through their nose correctly.
What about oral sex and the implications that will have? So if me and my partner are doing oral sex on each other, is that going to impact our oral microbiome?
You made him do it?
You've asked him?
And what did he say? Mind your own business.
For you?
And what's his rebuttal? He's like, I don't...
Ja.
There you go. Don't do the test, my friend.
There's no upside to him doing this test. I completely understand.
Okay, so no blowjobs if they've got issues down there.
Okay. Ja. Okay.
In that study, six months after that, their sperm had improved by 20% and after eight months, 50% of their wives were pregnant.
That is staggering.
What about women though? Is there a similar sort of result as it relates to women's fertility?
Last question before I ask you a personal question about yourself. What other diseases in my body or implications in my body are linked and can be traced back to the oral microbiome?
Every single time you eat, you have an opportunity to improve your health. That's why I love ZOE, because it helps me to make the smartest food choices for my body. As you guys probably know, ZOE is a sponsor of my podcast.
I'm also an investor in the company, which is important to say. I invested in the company because ZOE combines my health data with their world-class science. Using these two things, ZOE guides me to better health every single time I make a food choice and eat, which means I have more energy, better sleep, better mood, and I'm less hungry.
And here are the results. I've not actually seen them yet, so this is exciting. I'll give them to you, so you can explain them to me. So this is the test that I did, right? Yes, you did, yeah.
The test I did contains this little kit that basically in the middle of the office one day someone came up to me and said, Steve, can you spit in this? And I said, sure. And then they took my spit away. And it turns out it was upon request from you.
Was hast du von meinem Test gefunden?
That's the end of this broadcast. That's the end of this episode. I'll give you my card afterwards. Close the file. Close your document.
No, I mean, it all squares with reality. So please do keep going.
And that was giving her bad breath. Yeah.
So our dog owner is more likely to have bad breath.
If you're kissing your dog? Yeah. Okay. Interesting. So what are the very, having seen my results, but generally from seeing the thousands and thousands of results that you've seen, what are some of the easiest things that I could do to help correct that situation and have perfect oral health and a perfect oral microbiome?
That's interesting because when I eat something sugary, I feel like I need to brush my teeth to get rid of it.
Toothbrushes. Yes. Which toothbrush should I use? This one or an electric one?
What professional experiences and education have brought you here today? How long have you been doing that? How many mouths and how much saliva have you seen? Give me a big view on the wealth of experience you have on this subject.
Also neben meiner Zunge?
It looks like you're brushing the gums a little bit.
Okay.
Was zeigt das uns?
When our teeth get teeths, is that the right word? Is that a plural? What's the plural of teeth? Just teeth, yeah. When our teeth get stained, what we often do is we'll take some sort of whitening toothpaste or we'll go to a dentist or a hygienist or something and ask them to whiten our teeth. Now, I've always been a bit scared of that because...
Ich verlinke all deine Webseiten, deine sozialen Kanäle unten. Du musst also vorsichtig sein, was du wünschst.
This is gonna cause you problems. Yeah, I know.
Is she Iranian?
She's Iranian? Yeah. And your father?
French American. And if we sit here in 10 years time, what are you hoping the world looks like as it relates to the oral microbiome? People's understanding of it, the regulations. What are you hoping for? If you could wave a wand.
Dr. Victoria Sampson, vielen Dank.
Ja.
I'm sure that if we sit here in 10 years time, you would have impacted many, many, many millions of people and their overall picture of health through the lens of their oral microbiome because of the work you're doing and the message you're putting out there. And that is quite something. So congratulations, well done and thank you. Thank you so much.

Die Forschung, die du erwähnt hast, spezifisch die Forschungspapier, die bezeichnet wurde, könnte es einen Link zwischen Oralhygiene und Schwierigkeit von Covid-Infektionen geben? was the first research paper to link gum disease with worse COVID complications. And I was reading that it was the most cited research paper by one of the sort of dentistry publications?
Was ist da los?
I want to take a step back before we go through the links between oral microbiome and all of these diseases, but also I really want to also talk about what we can do about it, because I've got so many questions around. I've got all of these products down below my chair, from mouthwashes to toothpaste to all these kinds of things, which I want to talk about as well.
But just taking a step back to something that one of my guests previously was telling me about, I think it was James Nestor, he was telling me that the mouth itself and the jaw, because of processed foods, ist eine ungewöhnliche Form.
How does it feel right now? You were here. You were held in prison. Then you were freed and then wandering the streets, and now everyone is surrounding you, but they're telling you you're safe. What's going through your mind?
Did you hear about any other detainees, any other Americans, while you were in prison?
You just came in on your own for this religious pilgrimage. And did you cross the border legally? Did you just sort of find a hole in the fence and come in?
You said this was a religious mission. Was this sort of like following in the footsteps of Jesus, the road to Damascus, that kind of thing?
No, absolutely not. Because he really, I believe he really just wants to make America great again. Now, why was I sitting in prison when Anthony Fauci is loose? Why am I sitting in prison when Liz Cheney is loose? Why do those people get pardons? Because they're guilty, but they were never brought to justice. And yet me, a mom, I made a mistake and broke a window at the Capitol.
I'm sorry, but do I have to lose my whole life for it when we have these criminals running the government that now have pardons? That bothered me. That bothered me.
Yeah, we did an analysis a few years ago showing that over 90% of experiments with using human fetal tissue and putting them involved animals were funded by Fauci's NIAID.
A lot of it is happening at colleges and universities that have affiliated hospitals that perform that procedure.
What makes this family so scary is they will stop at nothing. This was about retribution.
Definitely got a kidnapping now. He had no plans to come back.
There's been a child found in a lake in Texas.
She said that they were following her and had people watching her. He'll never leave me alone. That's all I can think. He will never stop. These people are crazy on a level I've never seen before.
It was like they were preparing for Armageddon.
There's been so many rumors and so much misinformation. You don't know what's true and what's not true. I don't believe either one of them was capable of killing somebody. And the first time I interviewed him, I was like, oh my God, this guy did it.
You know, anytime you come up with an area that you thought something might be in, it would be volunteers show up by the hundreds to go search.
See if they could find something.
Everybody was a suspect at the time. We did not know.
This guy did it.
I've always spoken up. Nobody's ever asked me.
