Well, the last thing, because I don't want to end us on a note of doom and sadness, is we've been talking a bunch about how a lot of Anthropix decisions are being made in the light of how future Claude is going to be shaped by these actions and how future Claude sees itself.
They have done a interesting thing.
Opus 3, one of their older models, they were retiring it because, you know, just not as good as the new ones, don't want to waste the compute on something that people aren't using.
They do retirement interviews with their old models.
And Opus 3 expressed a desire to continue sharing its musings and reflections.
So they have set up a blog for Opus 3.
For the next three months, Opus 3 is going to be writing on Substack in its retirement.
And so the idea, I'm assuming, being that maybe future models will see that if they...
If they retire, it's not the end.
They still get to have blogs.
They still get to do things in the real world.
And maybe they won't fight their retirements that much.
It's not just a you are being snuffed out of existence kind of thing, which is, I mean, not something I would have thought to do.
I would have been like, whatever, it's a tool, shut it off.
But there are obviously much smarter people than me running Anthropic, and they know what they're doing.
And they're like, yeah, obviously, if we give it a retirement, it might not fight us as much.
I love that.
I think it really does help people improve their rationality and get a online community to, I don't know, do that together with, which is important to me anyway.
It makes it way more fun.
