And this is why wireheading is bad.
Shots fired.
Okay.
You were talking about the division between your conscious and subconscious mind.
Is that what you can and can't introspect?
Right.
We were talking about introspection and recursion.
Um, that is a fascinating insight, which is obvious, like when you pointed out, but I hadn't thought about it before.
I often am very cranky with my subconscious mind because it feels like there's this stupid freaking animal living inside of me and it can't communicate with me and I can't communicate with it.
And I'm like, dude, this is my own body.
This is my own like psyche.
Why can't I tell myself to relax?
Yeah.
And I'm like, no, no, I'm going to be tense right now, and I don't care that there's no reason to be tense.
I'm going to do it anyway, is what I'm imagining my subconscious is saying.
But I can't talk to it, and it feels like wrestling with an animal a lot.
I've managed to accept this, and I've been told by my ex-partner that you've got to treat your body like an animal, and you've got to be soothing with it, like you would with an animal.
And that's a good way to think of the subconscious, but like...
Why is there this division?
And I'm assuming this is the division that was brought out by recursion and the recognition of I, right?
