I think this was really good because Apple had the same kind of thing with the FBI.
I don't even know how long ago it was.
And that became like a big thing of theirs that like what happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone and gave them huge amounts of good PR and market share.
And like, I think kind of the same thing has happened for Anthropic now where people are like, okay, cool.
These are the guys that we like, um, they are now, they were yesterday or today.
Claude was the featured app on Apple iStore.
People are singing its praises, downloading it.
It's a great move market-wise to actually stand up for important principles that a lot of people care about, like not being mass-surveilled by your government.
So real quick, what happened after that?
Because it was just like less than an hour after Trump tweeted that this, that Hegseth just shat the bed.
I think theβI mean, I don't know.
I think Trump is going to be at least a bit upset that Hexeth just immediately stepped over him and was like, actually, we're doing this instead.
And pretty important.
So the major problem with this is that, okay, we don't know if it's even legal, how much it can be interpreted to make them stop all business with everybody.
And that's going to go through the courts for who knows how long.
But in this process, like if ultimately it does end up that they get destroyed, nobody is going to want to invest in them and risk their money putting tens of millions, hundreds of millions, possibly billions sometimes into a company which might not exist in six months because the government wants to destroy it.
So potentially, like what is going to happen to Anthropic here?
They can't just go six months with no investment.
