While the NBA has presented a few proposals aimed at changing the lottery, the heavy frontrunner reportedly involves a draft lottery that will feature 18 teams and altered odds.
This is according to Sam Amick at The Athletic.
So in that option, just to refresh your memory,
18 teams would be part of the draft lottery rather than the current 14, and the bottom 10 teams would all have an 8% chance of landing the number one pick.
So you're flattening the odds for the bottom 10 teams.
The remaining odds, 20% in total, would be divided among the remaining eight teams.
That's how you get to the 18 teams.
But we're talking about teams that are like in the playing and stuff like that.
