But he doesn't need to add velocity.
He doesn't really have to add a new, like, dramatically new, you know, greater, better pitch or anything like that.
The way he's pitching right now, there's a path right the way he is right now probably to big league success.
Again, if he stays healthy, if he continues to refine, develop all that.
Shields has got a little bit, I would say that,
Shields is going to, at the end of the day, ideally, if he's going to unlock his full potential, you do want to see a little bit more fastball velocity at the end of the day, right?
And this is something that is kind of like, I would say a little bit of a Royals archetype right now.
They have a number of these kind of interesting pitchers at different levels to them who, if you kind of summarized it, you'd say, well, this guy can really pitch.
I would say a really good fastball for his velocity.
It plays really well for the velocity he has because it probably moves really well at the top of the zone, things like that.
But they've got a number of these guys who, at the end of the day, you're like, okay, that's great.
But you also want to see what I would say is a little bit more velocity because as they climb the ladder โ
it's going to be a little bit tougher to get those outs.
Shields is one of those guys.
He's 19, plenty of time to do it, but he's going to need to probably add some velo as he climbs the ladder.
Jordan Woods, who's older, a good bit older, but kind of another guy who fits in this.
He's had a really good season, kind of a guy to keep an eye on, but he's another guy who's like, okay,
He's really successful, but at the same time, you're going to want to see a little bit more or a good bit more velocity, you know, at the end of the day than what you're seeing right now.
That's where I would say Trujillo is a little different because Trujillo has present stuff.
