So I think he grabbed the kids, and he went back to his hotel, and he flew out very early Sunday morning.
But he was good.
Was there someone, Embers, that you hadn't caught up with for a while that had maybe lived on the East Coast?
Yeah, there was definitely a few there.
Isaac, I don't know if you guys heard, but I had a bit of a run-in with a guy by the name of Daniel Chick in the change room.
And to be honest with you, I haven't had much to do with him in about 20 years.
I think I saw him at our 10-year reunion.
I haven't seen him for 10 years.
And so I was doing an interview on the ground and Chickie actually walked past me on Saturday and he gave me a punch in the ribs.
I'm thinking, oh, no, here we go again.
But
It was good to catch up with Daniel.
But, you know, guys like Ash Hansen, who obviously he's coaching Carlton now.
We don't get to see him that much.
And he flew in on the Friday night quickly and then sort of left first thing Saturday morning to get back for the St Kilda-Carlton game.
So it was wonderful to catch up with him as well.
Embers, as a young man growing up out west, at 92, 94, if you spotted a West Coast Eagle swanning through Cottesloe or Subiaco, it was like seeing Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt.
I remember as a kid seeing Brett Heddy thinking, there he is, he's a rock star.
Those mega stars, these guys.
Obviously, there's Kaz, there's Juddy, there's yourself.
