President-elect Trump's transition team has signed an agreement with President Joe Biden's White House to allow Trump's team to coordinate with the existing federal workforce ahead of the January 20th inauguration. The agreement is somewhat overdue and was to have been signed more than a month ago. It's viewed as a critical step in the process meant to ensure an orderly transfer of power.

Under new federal rules that would take effect next year, mortgage buyers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be able to acquire so-called conforming single-family home loans of up to $806,500 in much of the country. That's according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which says the size of the loans the government guarantees would be rising by 5.2 percent from this year's level.
