I had made iced tea a couple days in a row and they were sucking it down like crazy. And she just really liked it the way I made it. She said, I never had iced tea like this before. There's a lot of things that y'all didn't have that I would make and she like really loved. And I said, well, go ask Lacey. She's got a few tea bags. I'll make another pitcher.

And then when she didn't come right back up, I really didn't think about that. She might have liked all the fun stuff, because that was not unusual. But even the longer I started thinking about it, she always, she would have went for a walk. She would have came back up and said, Mom, Lacey said no. Mom, Lacey's not home. I'm going to go for a walk. We're going to go to the park.
And then when she didn't come right back up, I really didn't think about that. She might have liked all the fun stuff, because that was not unusual. The kids were taken away by the courts. The kind of whites were terminated by the courts. Do you know why? They were living in a motel, going out, scoring drugs, and leaving the kids by themselves all the time. Okay. And someone eventually turned them in. Okay. They had an opportunity to rehabilitate themselves through the court system. They never showed up for hearings, things like that.

She got her own place, moved the kids out. And I'm trying to think when she moved. Probably in 2004, she moved. She told me she was moving to Carrollton, Texas. I said that was around 2004 when they heard of the divorce.
