I was a part of that world for as long as I can remember.
I was a fan of the team.
But also, yeah, European football too.
I used to get up and watch the Champions League at 4.30 before school on a Tuesday.
Just couldn't get enough.
Like that was my, I think in the nineties with limited access pre-internet, pre-streaming, pre-everything at that, that was the most accessible team in the world.
And of course I took immediate shining to a certain Dave Beckham and it made quite the impact on me.
No, I'm definitely the Justin Langer.
You know, I was never even the best player on, you know, I wasn't even the best player on a lot of those junior teams that I played for.
Of course, you've got to be good enough and, you know, you've got to have the baseline of ability to be able to get yourself to a certain level.
But for me, I've genuinely willed and, yeah, yeah.
It's funny, the older you get and at this point in my career, you often reflect on these kinds of questions of how, how did it get to this point and why?
And I think for me, I was the most singularly focused person.
