So basically, my job is to make sure those pests don't pester my top guys.
And so when we would go into a game, I would know exactly who to pinpoint because, you know, you do your scouting and I would go up to those guys and I would say, hey, listen, if you're going to do that, I'm going to put my fist through your face.
The retribution, if they did something, would stop them.
But if they did do something, my job was to beat them up.
And as a hockey player, I was a heck of a fighter when I made the NHL.
I would usually grab their tough guy and beat him up.
If we were playing flat and we didn't have energy, I would go out and try to fight to get my guys going.
Or if it was a really bad hit, I would just grab that guy and I would beat his doors off.
It's funny, throughout my career, I really hated fighting.
There was days where I wouldn't sleep at night just because I knew I was going to get into a fight.
Well enough that John was able to make a career in the NHL.
