I love this book.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think, yeah, because I think the visual of like, if you're not into gaming and you think about what that looks like, I think I would picture like headphones on, very screen time, quite solitary.
And then I think this made me think about all the things about it that are so creative.
Love the 90s vibe.
So there are kind of quite distinct parts of it.
There's a really sad thing that happens in the middle, which unusually for me did not make me cry.
Okay.
I will cry at anything, but this one didn't quite get me, I think because I was so invested in Sam and Sadie and their story that any of the other characters and what happened to them was like a little bit to the side for me.
Is that heartless?
Yeah.
That's how I felt.
And I know some people didn't love the last third.
I loved the last third.
The last bit is where you are.
It's all set within the world of a game.
And so that just felt so different to anything that I'd read.
It's like a free roaming gameplay within this kind of like Western society town.
And I thought that was so fun to be in and know it was a game the whole time and know that someone was playing those characters.
