Kun me pääsimme, se oli erittäin vaarallista. He olivat edelleen vaarassa Hatoon.
We went to the front of the museum. We found it was smashed. Inside I saw ancient artifacts scattered everywhere, somewhere broken. And as I looked around, I could see that the main storeroom where we kept our collection was open. Officials say thousands of artifacts were either destroyed or shipped off to be sold while the RSF controlled Khartoum.
Jotkut of our most important and valuable artifacts were made of gold and the RSF. We were always looking for gold and money. They took their time and managed to get into our special secure storerooms where we kept them. They took all the gold pieces. They stole more than 2,000 artifacts from the safe rooms alone. In recent months Sudanese police working with international authorities like UNESCO say they have recovered some 500 looted items. But Jamal says a lot has been lost.

It's devastating. We've lost part of our identity, part of our civilization.
