If you went and polled the people of Florida, do you support the military operation in Iran?
You're going to get a much higher approval rating than if you say, do you support the war in Iran?
Right.
And so the president is smart.
He's a good communicator.
He knows that if you don't call it the war, you're going to likely be more popular.
But I think at the end of the day, if you're dropping bombs and you're losing American service members and we are paying the price at home in blood and in treasure, it is a war and war has to be authorized by the United States Congress.
One of the things that I've said I'll do as governor is I'll never allow the Florida National Guard, the 14000 members of our Florida National Guard, I'll never allow them.
to be sent to a foreign war unless it's authorized by Congress.
And look at how many of the recent conflicts we've been involved in had never had that congressional authorization.
Let's have a debate on the floor.
I need you to convince Thomas Massey.
In the same breath, convince Ro Khanna.
I need you to convince Joe Kennedy.
In the same breath, convince AOC.
That is the power of our constitutional republic, that if you want to go to war, you have to get buy-in from the people's representatives.
No.
I think it's a flat out lie.
And remember, we've had every opportunity.
They've had every opportunity to offer that evidence for us.
