The Philippines gets more than 90% of its energy imports from the Middle East, for instance.

It's resulted in petrol prices in the Philippines increasing by 70% during March and by 100% in Myanmar.

That compares to about a 40% lift in bowser prices in Australia during the same period before the fuel excise cut kicked in.
