They're peering all they can, looking around, looking for targets, and they start to see them.
And the reason is the German attack, counterattack, is just not coordinated.
You've got Panzer IVs from one unit.
You've got Pampers from another.
You've got Tigers.
They're all coming from earlier engagements on a different part of the battlefront as well.
So they're already kind of punch drunk on battle and exhausted.
David Render spots a Panzer through his binoculars and says,
AP, traverse right 800 yards.
Enemy Hornet dug in to the right side of prominent building.
And his gunner fires a shot, which is too short.
Render then swaps places with him and fires another shot himself, and then some more.
