And after we left government, we had free trade agreements with more than half the global economy, including the Canada-Europe Free Trade Agreement. matched

That had to be finalized because of a lot of the complications of Europe because of Brexit and a number of things that Prime Minister Trudeau's government did. matched

But the agreement that was set was done by our government. matched

And of course, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which America walked away from matched

But the point is that we have through the Canada-Europe Free Trade Agreement, the Canada-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Trump 45 and now Trump 47. matched

You take that together, we're now stretching back about 15 years of a coterie of people in Canada's public service and political class and others who have become genuinely thoughtful and engaged not only with foreign governments about how to arrive at trade agreements, matched

and foreign investment protection agreements and tariff agreements, but also who understand the balance between being outward facing on Canada's behalf to the rest of the world, but inward facing in terms of developing relationships with Canadian stakeholders who have to sort of come together and get that feedback and push-pull. matched
