What's going to happen this time around?
Well, of course, in Group H, which sees Spain take on Saudi Arabia and Uruguay against Cape Verde.
Everything's tied.
Spain looking for their first win of the competition, of course, and Uruguay taking on Cape Verde later on in Miami.
And in Group G as well, it's all square ahead of Belgium's clash with Iran and New Zealand against Egypt, which is taking place in Vancouver.
Let's talk now.
about New Zealand Oceania's 11 if you will in a tournament of surprises could they be the latest unfancied team to challenge for a knockout place well earlier on today we were joined by Michael Burgess of the New Zealand Herald and he talked to us about how it's been so far Michael thank you so much for joining us how has the World Cup been for you so far well it's been fantastic I mean uh for two reasons number one
Would you say that this team is better than the 2010 one, which famously went through the tournament unbeaten?
Michael, one of the most talked-about players of the opening set of games is New Zealand's potential superstar in the making, Elijah Just.
They have Salah and Mahmoud, but you've got Justin and Woods.
What a combination they were against Iran.
Yeah.
Michael, everything's level in this group, which raises the prospect that were New Zealand to get their first ever World Cup win against Egypt, then the Kiwis, a team ranked 83rd currently in the world, a nation with only two professional soccer clubs, could make it through to the knockout stages.
Are you daring to hope about this?
All right, Michael, thank you so much for joining us and the best of luck against Egypt.
Michael Burgess of the New Zealand Herald.
Lovely to hear from him and to hear a little bit about the Kiwis, who could well be one of the stories.
Well, you know, or not.
Early days, they've only had one game, that two to draw against Iran, and they are taking on an Egypt side that's got a little bit of firepower of its own.
Hey, what do you think?
