We did a road trip.
It was like New York, Boston.
And he this was early in the season.
And he was just I think he like struck out Devers in Fenway spot.
And I remember being like, dude, this guy, this guy has it like he likes the lights.
He's not getting protected by anyone or anything.
They're not trying to like.
Yep, and I think the more success you have, the easier it is.
When you're just like, oh, it plays when I'm rushing to two strikes, seeing how quickly I can get the hitter on their heels, that kind of thing.
But for him to come over here, not speak the language, to have no experience in MLB, to come over here and perform like that early and then just build from there, it's been fun to watch.
You know, what's weird is like, I mean, I've already, I feel like I've kind of signed my contract.
Now it's all about like, I truly can say I want to win and be a part of something special.
So I'm, I'm like truly not worried about it going into this year.
Like this time feels a lot different than last time.
Uh,
But, yeah, in 22, like, our Yankees team was so good and we got off to such a good start there in, like, April and May that the goal was always, like, playoffs and playing October baseball that, like, I can, like, honestly confidently say I was not thinking about it.
And in New York, like, winning is so important and that's the culture that, like, if you let yourself go somewhere else mentally, I showed up every day with a little bit of fear of, like,
If I have a bad day, I'm getting booed.
I wasn't afraid of a bad day for my contract.
I was afraid of my bad days getting booed off the mound, to be completely honest.
