Showing up every day was so fun.

On flights, we're all hanging out and talking and playing cards.

We're hanging out in each other's rooms on the road.

We're playing video games together.

We're opening card packs together.

We're all texting on the side.

It's a special group.

We had a really nice mix of fun, fresh, young players.

But then...

you look at like me and Dansby and Ian and Nico, like we've had some guys that have played together now for three full seasons.

And I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but in today's game, that is, and we've watched each other grow and we've grown up together and, um, you know, we've all seen each other get married and like,

You know, Dansby, he just had a kid.

So I don't know.

I just feel really connected to this group.

And I also think something's a little different.

Like when you sign somewhere in free agency, like I feel just a real attachment to Chicago and the Cubs.

Like they made a real commitment in me.

I made a commitment in them.

And then just to see the progress here and to make the playoffs with this group, which was always the goal when I signed here, like it's just been really, really fun to be a part of.

And, I mean, I could keep going on and on, like showing up and playing at Wrigley every day with this group of guys.
