Where did you think your future was going to be then, before Nuno arrived?
I wanted to listen to what the manager said, to be honest, because when I knew he was coming in, I always wanted the game to be in front of me.
That's all I ever wanted, for the game to be in front of me.
At Sheffield United it was different because we weren't really focusing on having the ball.
We were kind of making the box and being a bit of a runner.
Whereas when the gaffer come in, it was more like the game's in front of you, you need to organise and talk.
Well, it's massive, to be honest, mate.
It's something where... We've mentioned before about Sheffield United how vital your wingers and your wing-backs can be, and it's huge in our formation where we like to get the ball out to them as soon as we possibly can, and whether it's me, whether it's Ruben, whether it's Joao, it doesn't really matter.
100%, yeah, because one of the toughest things in the Premier League, I believe in the last two years, is the way other teams press you.
And if they press on our outside centre-halves and you're then putting them under a bit of pressure, it becomes tough for them to then deal with the ball.
So I think a lot of the time, if you can try and find your wings and miss them out, it becomes easier for us all to give them a little bit more space.
So I think that's one of the hardest things in the Premier League, to deal with another team's press.
So do you think that the position that you play is a defensive position but also an offensive position?
Yeah, and this is what I mentioned before.
A lot of people think you play three at the back because sometimes you can't defend or you can't do these other things.
A lot of the time you play three at the back to try and start attacks.
We have players who want to play out first, play into Ruben Nevers and play out.
I think a lot of it's to do with how you actually play, not just because you need an extra man to defend.
It's actually to start attacks and play different ways.
Interesting.
