Jack, your club and a few others... Oh, sorry.
There you go.
Go on, Gaz.
But do you think that was the next step?
It felt to me like you were going to be in the next England squad, going to really push for that squad in the European Championships.
Well, I can understand where the manager's coming from because he's probably thinking in this last month, I want those players really on side, giving everything for me.
And he may feel maybe they'll have their heads elsewhere.
They may have almost had a fallout with the CEO of the club over this situation.
You think, well, I certainly just go back to my experience at Liverpool.
If a manager at Liverpool wanted a player to stay, he would stay.
there'd be no qualms about that so I don't really understand if Sean Dyche wants him to stay why there'd be a problem at Burnley because I mean for me he is Burnley Sean Dyche I mean what he's done for that club the revenue he brings in for the owners because they don't really spend too much let's be honest about it the wages are certainly anywhere near the top or the middle in the Premier League so the job he does is miraculous every year so if he wants players to have an extension on a contract I don't see any reason why they shouldn't so I can totally understand Sean Dyche there being disappointed
really there's you know a few of the players there I can understand maybe are coming to the end of the career maybe look at the age of some of those players but as I said we are in a unique situation now and you think if the manager wants them on a certain contract you think going forward that'd be a that'd be the case for them because again you look at the position they're in no threat of relegation at all still actually I mean they're not they're not far behind Arsenal and Tottenham I think when I saw the league the other day so
I think if the manager wants them to stay, they should be able to stay.
Well, it's interesting, the Arsenal situation, because I think towards the end of my career, we were in this situation quite a lot where you're not quite, you're just missing out on the top four, basically.
And yes, it's okay having rules in place and saying at Arsenal, we never let a player go on a Bosman ruling.
But if you're Mikel Arteta, I would be looking at that and think, well, have we got more chance, even if he goes for nothing next year, have we got more chance of getting the Champions League
for next season if Aubameyang stays and that's the decision they've got to make really I mean at this stage there's no doubt about it Aubameyang is too good for Arsenal we had that at Liverpool at times with maybe Luis Suarez
And certain plays you're having, you're desperate to keep hold of them because you're actually thinking as a club, we want to build around this player.
And if that player goes, you almost feel like you're starting again.
That's the problem you have of trying to get back into the top four and establishing yourselves again as Arsenal are trying to do, really.
