By playing him in the number 10, he can play clever passes, he can score goals.

He was unlucky not to score.

And I think with Fernandes, it suited him because it is a specialised position, number 10.

Think about the great goal scorers.

Even Frank Lampard didn't like the 10.

He wanted to play on the left of a three because you've got your back to goal all the time and he looked uncomfortable in the first half, although he did well.

But second half, when he can move on to the play and he can start to pick his passes and see things in front of him and you've got Mata as more of a forward player, it did seem to suit United more.

And that is a problem when I watch United.

There always seems to be players not playing in their right position.

I think if you get players playing where they feel comfortable, you'll get a lot better performances.

Just going back to the Fernandes, it's not an easy team to play in right now.

What do you think of what Liverpool are capable or able to do with Fabinho as an example?

When he first signed for the club, I don't know what they paid for him, 30 or a lot of money, they gave him two, three months to just almost sit back and watch what was going on.

Today, I came, I think I got excited by it.

I'm expecting him to run the game, to score goals, to make goals, and it's very difficult.

He's had a difficult week in terms of travelling, practice,

fatigue, the emotion of signing for a big club like Manchester United, that plays... It's very difficult to deal with it.

You know what it's like as a player.

Matt, he's had to... And only one day's training to get used to his teammates.

And at Sporting, he's the man.
