I know that's a complicated and a big mouthful, but essentially it helps startups and venture capitalists so that we can create a more productive and entrepreneurial economy.
That's terrific.
It allows indexation of a policy that was put
together by the coalition a decade ago.
So I think that that will be welcome news for those innovators and entrepreneurs.
And we do need to drive productivity.
What was disappointing, though, was that even though this was supposed to be the big productivity budget, actually productivity forecasts haven't changed.
And they've been downgraded from where they were three years ago.
So I can't really see where the productive benefits are from the changes that were made.
That's very disappointing.
Well, these are higher taxes that have been sold to the Australian people on the basis that we need intergenerational equity in the housing market.
It's a fraud.
It's a lie.
These taxes will actually push up the cost of housing, push up the cost of rents, and moreover, it will make it harder for young Australians to save to get into the housing market.
and it will reduce the numbers of houses being built.
