The House this hour narrowly voted to advance a partial government shutdown-ending budget package, setting it up for a final vote later today that could send the more than $1 trillion measure to President Trump for his signature.
It funds much of the government through the end of September, but it only funds the Department of Homeland Security for two weeks, giving lawmakers a chance to debate changes to the agency.
This after Democrats refused to approve DHS funding without restrictions on immigration enforcement tactics after two U.S.
citizens in Minnesota were killed by federal officers.
