Player O'Reilly was younger at that point.
Again, we've seen O'Reilly didn't have the, what do you say, the peak before and then falling back down to earth.
Two completely different way of like, again, I never played against Petey really.
So it's harder, but I played against O'Reilly and like he is a competitor.
If guys don't want to compete, they don't want to work, they don't want to do these little things, and that's not just when we watch them on TV for two hours, because that's how they prepare, that's how they work, how they treat themselves in the summer, it's how they get ready for the season and all those things.
of maybe instilling this and maybe that's the fact that yeah okay it's not fun to play in Vancouver right now because we're at the bottom of the barrel so it's not as fun to prepare because we're done in April anyways yada yada yada so is this where a change of scenery can kind of change things a little bit
But then I go back to it was a fun place to play here two years ago.
They had a hell of a playoff run where they took Edmonton to game seven, and he was nowhere to be found in these series.
If he plays close to what he did today,
six months prior like they win that series um because he'd be contributing where he wasn't so so it's like it's it's hard to to say oh he just need a fresh start and then everything's going to work out that that's where it's like with the right wingers i think is more important than him right now because he does have skill he is a talented players he does draw attention to him he's got a bomb of a shot so you have to honor him when he's out there um so so with the right
setup, the right team, I can still see him working out to the point of Ryan O'Reilly, the way he worked out down the route, I highly doubt that, but he can be a serviceable number two center, and then if you get the cap hit down a little bit, and obviously that's not something that you like from a Vancouver side, now it becomes even better as the cap climb as well.
We'd have to go probably eight months deeper because I'd won two of these draft picks.
to see that they're going to come in and they're not going to lose their spot.
You should get one needle mover in that number three and I hope you get lucky here because it is luck once you get past the top five or so.
A little bit more that you're probably going to have to retain once you ship him off at a deadline or something like that.
But again, looking a little bit more in terms of how do we collect more assets so we have more shots in the barrels.
