Life is easier.

It's a lot easier to get a new deal once you're playing on a winning team because you must be contributing otherwise while you're there, so to speak.

So again, it's nice to have these players that can step up in a pinch.

Do you want to necessarily pencil them in higher than they probably should be?

Absolutely not.

Yeah, this is where I want to protect the young guys coming in.

So I don't necessarily like the D, how they're set right now, unless you start subtracting a Hronik or something like that, they're insulated.

Willander and Buam, they'll have good line mates or good players they can play with.

I kind of need the same thing at forward.

So let's say you get a Malhotra or the Swedish guy.

I need to make sure you have...

you have two players that can play with them.

These are the guys I'm penciling in, so they are insulated.

Then the other nine forward are going to have to duke it out.

But the young ones that you're bringing in, and if you draft the defensemen real early, as they can as well, then I'd be remiss to say that I probably don't want to move Hronik, but we probably want to pair him with somebody like that.

So it's one of those things where depending on who you're bringing in,

I want to more so insulate them and have them good line mates so you don't get a situation like they're kind of running in Chicago where you're hearing these rumbles coming out, Bedard, well, he's got nobody to play with and all of those things.

You're not hearing that in San Jose.

Celebrini's got players to play with.
