Time remains to be seen where these draft picks land and what player they turn out to be.

But when you move an all-star player like that, you're probably going to get worse players from it.

You can get lucky.

Can you build something down the line?

Like when Vegas traded Pacioretty or for Pacioretty.

Like right away, Montreal obviously got a little bit weaker.

But Nick Suzuki now, like Montreal is better for it in the long run.

So you don't really know what happens.

This is where you take the best player available.

And then if it comes to a point five, seven years down the road where they don't want to be there anymore.

Well, now you flip them for assets that you hope can help you for another five, seven, ten years.

Yeah, obviously you need to be a winner.

You'll still be able to draw players in that want to win.

So if you find a way to make your team better, players will come.

Now, will you be able to do what they did in Florida where you're signing numerous guys to below their market's average comparables and stuff like that because they're getting a tax break?

Probably not.

So you will always be at a disadvantage.

But in terms of attracting talent, if you're good, if players want to win, you need to be good in order to do that.

Otherwise, it's not just we don't have the tax break.
