You're just trying to reduce salary to reduce tax burden, maybe even get out of the second apron in a year or two so they can start resetting some of those penalties down the road with the draft picks. It's worth us biting the bullet and dumping him for whatever we can, whether it's short term money or even find a way to get off of him entirely, which probably is not possible with his salary, but who knows, just to deal with the tax bill. Maybe they get rid of Drew, they get rid of KP and they find a way to develop a center, which they have currently nobody in the pipeline to be their legitimate starting center in the future. So that's an issue they have to figure out, because Horford presumably will retire at some point, or maybe he'll just die of old age while still in a Celtics uniform 50 years from now, who knows.
