Did he cut you off once on Olive?
Well, actually, so Paul, we've talked about this briefly before once, because you mentioned your dad was the voice of ABC, as you said, and he was like the original real promo guy on networks.
And my recollection is, and so I'm going to say this, and then you can tell me what you know about this, and if I'm wrong.
he would record the promos for all the network.
And the promo guys are when you watch a show, when you're watching a network and you hear, coming up tonight at 8 p.m., it's an all-new blah, blah, blah, followed by... Oh, that was your dad?
And your dad would sit in the room with the engineer right next to the board, and he had a 416, a shotgun mic, and he was the first guy to do that in that way.
Was he... Because he was actually in real time telling the guy how to modulate his voice and do all the EQ and stuff.
Willie does a little of that.
Not in the booth, not anymore.
But I will say that, like, and then I'll get out of the weeds on this.
So traditionally, all the voiceover guys, especially in New York, where a lot of it used to be done back in the day, everybody used the mic that's a very common, that I do have over here, and what we refer to as an 87, a U87, and it's a great microphone.
Your dad changed that by using that shotgun mic, and he forever changed, and it became the West Coast microphone.
