Yes, the 7'4 player is quite the presence.
So I mentioned this yesterday when they played OKC in the Western Conference final.
Afterwards, Shea Gildress Alexander told the media, like, we really weren't prepared to deal with not just the shot blocking, but the game alteration that Wemby presents because there's a lot of stuff that doesn't show up in the box score, rebounds and block shots specifically, where he fundamentally alters what you want to do on offense.
And it was interesting because, you know, the guys that were calling the game yesterday pointed to the fact that a lot of the turnovers that the Knicks had early had to do with the fact that Wemby wasn't camped out deep in the key.
He was actually playing up higher and was preventing them,
from doing their flash offense, which is where they go stretch the court lengthwise, like sideline to sideline.
And he played higher in the key, made those passes more difficult.
He's such a disruptor out there in any fashion, depending on where you deploy him.
Think of him like a singular stick, like a 12-foot stick.
Yeah, think about Chara.
Not a bad comparison, actually, as we try to shoehorn everything into hockey.
Offensively.
Megachara.
Megachara.
Part of the thing is,
He's got an ungodly wingspan.
It goes beyond his frame.
The reason that OKC couldn't replicate him with Chet in practice is because Chet doesn't have the wingspan that Wemby has.
But anyway, back to last night.
Just normal arms.
