They can make the right pick, and it can go badly.
They can make the wrong pick, and it can go well.
All you can really do is make the best bet with the information available to you and the best information available to you.
And I guess I would just say that I wish I had more confidence in the Canucks process, right?
Like if there'd been changes in the amateur scouting side or to the amateur scouting side and they'd settled on Malhotra, I would have felt differently about it.
But because this organization, it's like you're telling me the organization loves the guys with sketchy profiles who've shown better than everyone else in small samples and are struggling to consider the whole.
That's the same thing I've seen for the last five, six years and been critical of consistently.
That doesn't mean that they're bad picks.
And that doesn't mean that someone following a process I had more confidence in might not reach the same conclusion that the Canucks did.
But it's unfair for me to sort of tar a player like that.
If the Canucks select Caleb Malhotra, I think there's good reasons for it.
I think he's a totally fair consideration, more or less, at three.
Yeah, and that's the other difference here.
We'll all be hoping that this organization finds a way to turn the page with the same approach.
