it's incredible guys um you know thanks for for covering this uh this event it's going to be immense for the game of soccer in this country i was here at the stadium toronto stadium at about 5 30 this morning i was so keen to get going and the pitch is in immaculate condition the stadium looks fantastic from the inside looking out it's going to be rocking it's going to have a wave of canadians there's tons of people already here at the stadium
ready to support Canada and see them do something special they've never done before, which is win a game at a World Cup.
So it's a lot to be excited about right now.
Yeah, there is.
I mean, I'm not going to lie.
It's not an ideal situation to have arguably your two most important players injured coming into a World Cup.
Alphonso Davies, as we all know, is a global star, and he's Canada's captain, and he's not going to be available today.
Moise Bombido, arguably their best defender, most important defender, is going to be available today, but is very unlikely to start the match.
He's been injured for...
Several months, it goes back to October.
You know, it's not the ideal preparation.
I don't think anyone within Canada Soccer would argue that it is.
But what's good is that he's been selected.
That gives me belief that the coaching staff and the medical staff are confident that he can play a part in this tournament.
And that's going to be open for debate and discussion by people like us for the next couple of weeks.
But, you know, hopefully we'll see him at some point in time.
If not today, then definitely next week against Qatar in Vancouver.
Yeah, 100%.
You know, we saw four years ago in Qatar, you know, we played so well against Belgium, who were ranked number one in the world at the time.
You know, but we came away with a 1-0 defeat.
