Whereas the backdoor, if I'm reaching out to developers privately on background and saying, hey, I want to talk to you, maybe you can be anonymous for this story because you would get in trouble if you were caught talking to me, that I think people are more inclined to talk to me because of my body of work because they have seen what I've done before and they know that I have a reputation that I won't burn sources, that I work really hard to protect people.
who spoke to, who speak to me, who, and make sure that they can stay anonymous. And I've got a lot of experience doing that. So in that sense, it helps.

It's very funny to hear you say that because literally two days ago, I actually just sent an email to my editor with a list of corrections that I have to make for future printings of the book. And it's all pretty minor stuff. One of it is like the timing of when Blizzard moved to the Irvine campus. Another one is the year that the NES came out.

And a couple other just kind of like small things that I needed to fix for future editions. But like, that's what I harp on is like, Because as a reporter, you're trying to get as close to 100% accurate as possible, and you know that's always going to be difficult, if not impossible, with a 300-page book.

But still, I was really hoping to hit 100% accuracy, but I had to begrudgingly make some fixes. But yes, I'm very glad to hear that people at Blizzard felt like the important stuff was correct. And that's really what matters the most, as much as I might just kind of like grimace knowing that there are a few minor things that people are reading that are incorrect out there.

It's just annoying. But yeah, no, it's really cool. I worked very hard to make that happen. For the book, I interviewed more than 350 people, including 300 plus at Blizzard itself, like current and former employees. And I went through this pretty rigorous process.

process where like I tried to make sure everything I had in there to the best extent possible was corroborated by multiple people and when it wasn't corroborated by multiple people I would except in very rare cases I would remove it and so there's some

great anecdotes that I had in there that were very colorful and very entertaining, but like, I can never be a hundred percent certain that they were true because maybe only one person remembered them. And that was the person who told him to me or, and, and nobody, everybody else was like, huh, did that really happen? But the anecdotes I do have in there I'm, I'm very confident are true.

So I'm very glad to hear that. And I'm glad to hear that that's the sentiment among folks at Blizzard can Cause yeah, you never know. You always put something, you put something out, you put something like this out there, a book out there.

And as much work as you do, as much research as you might put into it, you never really know if like you had some blind spot that you didn't even think about and like, oh shit, like I missed this important piece of context or like this thing was totally, I totally whiffed on this. So yeah, Yes, it's good to hear that. And I've definitely got that sentiment from people.

It's funny, yeah, hearing from Blizzard people reading the book, it's always interesting to hear their perspectives. And they vary greatly depending on the era of Blizzard in which they were in. And also, it's so funny because certain people just like to harp on such very specific parts of it. Mm-hmm.
