Well, I mean, I don't think he's been without recognition.

I mean, people are certainly talking about him as among the best coaches.

And certainly in his first few years as a head coach, his record has been impeccable.

I mean, he's the fastest coach to 100 wins in ACC history.

And all that.

I think his record is like 122 and 50 or something to this point.

And heck, he's only lost one ACC game in the last two years.

They were 19 and one last year.

So that's not gone unnoticed.

I just don't know, honestly, guys, what coach of the year means.

Does it mean you took a team that people didn't expect?

Is Miami's Jay Lucas going to get it because Miami wasn't any good last year and they're good this year?

I don't know what it means anymore.

I know in the NBA, you don't want to be coach of the year because you win coach of the year, you get fired the next year.

It doesn't seem like those things mean much.

To me, coach of the year is the ones that cut nets down and win championships.

He's done that in the ACC and

It seems like every year he's taken his program one step further in the NCAA tournament the year before.

I think his first year, what, they were Sweet 16 or second round, whatever, and then they go Elite Eight and then Final Four.
