There was a time when Jalen Brunson was a freshman.

He came in really highly touted.

Ryan Archidiakono was our starting point guard at the time.

He was a senior, and Jalen won.

We were in a preseason NIT.

Jalen won the MVP.

I think he won the MVP.

Yeah, he did.

And he was kind of playing to win the MVP as a freshman.

And the other guys on the team afterwards kind of laughed at him, like, dude, you know, you got the MVP, but it was about, we all could have done it, but we were trying to win the tournament.

And he got it right away.

Like, he didn't, right after that, he completely changed.

And Mikael Bridges used to go against Josh Hart in practice, and I watched Josh just beat the hell out of him.

And because Mikael was skinny in his red shirt in his freshman year, and Josh was always strong.

And Mikael would always just get right back up, never complain, come right back at him.

And we all, in his sit-out year, we all said, like, this is something special.

And Josh, as a freshman, would just take huge shots.
