The primary damage was to the lighting booth high at the back of the theater where the spotlights are operated.

But firefighters also had to cut into the roof to put out the blaze.

The New York Fire Department issued a full vacate order as the theater's owners repair the damage.

The fire's cause hasn't been determined.

The show's producers say they hope the Book of Mormon can resume performances on May 19th.

so that the production can celebrate its 15th anniversary with nightly cameos from the show's original cast and writers beginning in June.

An official announcement of when performances will resume is expected next week.

That was the number of nominations the musicals The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon received.

Schmigdune, a gentle parody of Golden Age musicals, began its life as an Apple TV series, while The Lost Boys is an adaptation of the 1987 teenage vampire movie.

Following Close Behind or revivals of Ragtime with Eleven, Death of a Salesman, Cats, and The Rocky Horror Show all received nine.

The Tonys will be handed out at Radio City Music Hall on June 7th.

Mexodus, a two-person musical which uses rap and looping to tell the story of the Underground Railroad to Mexico, picked up four awards, including Outstanding Musical.

The rest of the awards were spread around.

Outstanding Play went to a queer coming-of-age story about a prince with a blunt title that features an epithet.

And Outstanding Revival went to the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with a score by the late William Finn.
